The video game Joe Danger was followed up with a movie titled Joe Danger 2: The Movie. The player takes control of Joe Danger, an outstanding stuntman, and guides him through several stages in this game. The entire game is based on a variety of different movie themes. In the various stages, a significant number of the stock tropes and cliches that are associated with well-known films are utilized. Although there isn’t much in the way of a story in the game, the numerous levels and stages are purportedly used to make a movie.
The gameplay in this game may be summed up as a “side-scrolling arcade racing game” (or “Excitebike on crystal meth,” if you prefer). While avoiding collisions, performing tricks, and attempting to acquire various things, Joe Danger advances through a level along a fixed axis that runs from right to left (although this direction can be reversed in some groups). The game may be completed quickly and is designed to accommodate many failed attempts and subsequent restarts. You can restart the stage with a single button push at any time. Joe uses various vehicles and other equipment, ranging from a unicycle to a jetpack, among other things.
In most cases, the player can advance in the game by just finishing a stage. However, they must complete other objectives over the stage to earn “stars,” which are necessary to unlock higher levels. It is also suggested that players engage in competitive leaderboard-based gameplay, with “ghosts” of other players being (optionally) visible throughout the race.
The video game has many playable characters that may be unlocked and used in place of Joe. In addition, a level editor known as a “movie maker” is bundled with the game. The simultaneous participation of up to four players is supported. However, it can only occur locally.
