As a result, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light does away with the classic third-person platforming challenges found in Tomb Raider and substitutes an action-driven isometric dual-joystick shooter in their place. But it doesn’t mean the Guardian Of Light lacks any of the defining elements of the Tomb Raider franchise; on the contrary, there are still enormous spherical platforms to push and switches to press. Simply put, it’s more concentrated and created with speed-running in mind.
Although the main campaign of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light may be finished in around 5 hours, leaderboards and local multiplayer provide replayability. A free online multiplayer patch, according to Crystal Dynamics, is also being developed, but it wasn’t yet accessible at the time of our review.
In addition to providing enough new gameplay to feel thrilling and novel, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light also charmingly incorporates the franchise’s enduring elements. As a result, both fans and newbies should play it.
