The London 2012 Olympic Games (phew) are a game of two halves, like so many sports. The official Olympic tie-in, which has an astonishing 45 events, doesn’t fall short in terms of content. Although a sizable piece of what it offers aims for athletic success, the rest of the package feels painfully satisfied with a spot in the starting blocks. Even if it is only a few milliseconds off the pace, that lack of consistency keeps the game from placing on the podium.

The experience is divided into a variety of disciplines based on actual activities, as you might imagine. The majority of the schedule is made up of track and water sports, although there is also a place for shooting, gymnastics, and other events. The official venue for each sport is included, giving viewers a sneak preview of how the Games will be broadcast on television later this year.

London 2012 frequently comes within a whisker of a podium finish, but regrettably falters at the line. Even if the title well evokes the mood of the Olympic Games, it crosses the finish line in the center of the pack due to the lack of refinement in a lot of the events.
