The traditional board game Magic: The Gathering inspired the digital trading card game Magic 2014, which was released in 2014. The primary premise of the game is that players engage in turn-based combat against one another, during which each adversary plays out cards from the deck (which is made up of different playing cards). These cards produce mana (there are five different types of mana) or summons (which require mana to play out) with various abilities. Playing these cards requires mana. The objective is to lower the number of life points the opponent holds to zero.
During the game, the player assists a planeswalker named Chandra Nalaar in her mission to track down and destroy evil wizards across the cosmos. In terms of the game’s mechanics, it consists of a string of battles against specialized foes, which, when completed, unlocks 10 different decks. The other single-player game options are challenges, the brand-new sealed mode, and rapid matches against the computer AI. In multipsingleplayerou can compete in ranked tournaments or two-on-two matchups with as many as four human opponents (the latter is a singleplayer option in the game’s mobile versionsgleplayer sealed game mode, the player is given random booster packs that can be used to build a deck. The player can build up to two decks for free, and more booster packs can be purchased through in-game microtransactions. There is also an additional campaign for you to test out the new deck, in addition to the fact that you may use it in multiplayer. There are no other alterations between this game and its predecessor outside the addition of cards and this mode.
The mobile versions are available for free download. However, they only offer a subset of the available material (three decks, a portion of the single-player campaign, sealed mode, and a planeswasingleplayerhe remaining content can only be accessed by paying a small fee, known as a “micro-transaction.”
