Monsters vs. Aliens is the name of a film adapted into a video game released in 2009. The video game was made available for purchase on various platforms, including Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, and Wii, on March 24, 2009. The game, which Beenox developed on all platforms except the Nintendo DS, which Amaze Entertainment developed, allows users to play through scenes from the movie as Ginormica, B.O.B., and The Missing Link, and it features drop-in/out co-op play. Beenox was responsible for developing the game on all other platforms. The fact that Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, and Rainn Wilson reprise their roles from the film is a significant feature.
On the other hand, Hugh Laurie and Kiefer Sutherland do not repeat their parts; instead, James Horan and Fred Tatasciore play the roles they originated in the film. This is the final video game produced by DreamWorks Animation that will be available for the PlayStation 2 platform. In addition to that, it is the last DreamWorks Animation game that Beenox will ever create.
