Need for Speed: Shift

Electronic Arts are the publisher of the long-running racing video game brand Need for Speed, of which Need for Speed: Shift is the thirteenth installment and the second reboot. Need for Speed: Shift is often styled as Need for Speed: SHIFT. It was revealed in December 2008 alongside the other two games: Need for Speed: Nitro and Need for Speed: World. The announcement included all three titles. In collaboration with EA Black Box, Slightly Mad Studios was responsible for the game’s development, and Electronic Arts were the publisher. In the new franchising model that EA has implemented for the series, Shift takes its place as the entry that focuses on simulation/arcade racing rather than the arcade racing featured in the earlier entries. With the success of Shift, a sequel titled Shift 2: Unleashed was released in 2011.
