Tales of Vesperia for the PlayStation 3 includes full-voice acting, new characters such as Flynn as a fully customizable, permanent playable character and Patty Fleur, a young girl with blond hair who is an entirely new playable character, as well as new subplots, skits, main game quests, and sidequests. New songs, remodeled towns, and new towns and dungeons have been added to the game’s soundtrack. New bosses include the Sword Dancer from previous Tales games, Don Whitehorse, and Clint of the Hunting Blades. Players can also replay boss fights on Nam Cobanda Isle. There are also new gameplay elements such as increased Overlimit levels (up to eight), more mystic arts, a dual mystic arte with Yuri and Flynn, and the latest rates, skills, and equipment for playable characters. A further essential item, the “Artes Ball,” was also added, allowing eight art shortcuts to be assigned to the previous eight slots when combined with the L1 button for 16 rates. The game also includes a slew of new character costumes, including cameos based on the last Tales games and costumes based on characters from other series, such as Xenosaga and Sgt. Frog. A scene-skip feature and a Team Arena in the Coliseum are also included.
