The gorgeous open-world setting of Targem’s highly polished post-apocalyptic racer surrounds the whole affair with silly humor and good handling mechanics. The bundle may have been improved with an online multiplayer mode, but the single-player experience is strong enough to warrant a purchase.

Waiting for the game to slip up took up a large portion of our time with Armageddon Riders. As we spent an hour or so maniacally racing across the game’s gorgeous sandbox areas, mowing out zombies in our path, we reminded ourselves, “Surely this scarcely publicized PlayStation Network racer has to have a caveat or two.” “Too wonderful to be true, I say.
