WALL-E (stylized as WALLE) is a video game based on a film of the same name. Play THQ created and published the game for a variety of platforms. The game was released on June 24, 2008, in North America, July 4, 2008, in Europe, and September 4, 2008, in Australia. The game was also released in Japan on December 11, 2008, though it was not officially available on the Xbox 360 or any PC. WALL-E received favorable reviews from critics. The PS2 version of the game received the highest rating of 67 out of 100 on Metacritic. Despite harsh criticism, IGN praised the PSP adaptation as “… one of the most solid film to game adaptations we’ve seen in a while.” The video game’s Senior Animation Director was Marc Vulcano. He had recently left Sony Pictures Imageworks, where he had worked as a Senior Character Animator on films such as Beowulf. He previously worked as an animation director and supervisor for Big Idea Productions’ VeggieTales. Demos for the video games Ratatouille and Cars are included in the PC version.
