Pacific City has been taken over; criminality rules the streets. Three strong gangs have taken over the once-great metropolis, and the police have proven helpless to reclaim control. Only the Agency’s deployment of genetically enhanced agents of justice can give residents hope. Players can explore the city and choose the best techniques for each unique situation in an open-ended sandbox environment. Prepare yourself. Justice is on its way to Pacific City—Crackdown ushers in the next generation of the action-driving hybrid genre with the first 3-D playground. While ascending the vertical landscape, players will level their agent’s strength, agility, guns, explosives, and driving skills. In Pacific City, a crime-ridden metropolitan hub about to burst, you must enforce justice by any means necessary. Enter an interactive universe where you can use anything as a weapon to clean up the streets the only way you know how—your choice. Crackdown is the brainchild of Dave Jones, the creative mind behind several groundbreaking gaming titles such as Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings, and was developed specifically for Microsoft Gaming Studios and the Xbox 360 system. Crackdown players use the incredible power of the Xbox 360 to exact justice against the backdrop of a crime-ridden metropolis that is vast in scale and exquisite in detail. The game’s distinct appearance uses a highly stylized rendering approach, transforming it into a live, breathing graphical narrative. You play an enforcer for the city’s “Agency,” a law enforcement body tasked with reclaiming neighborhoods and lives from three major crime syndicates. You are a member of the new generation of crime fighters—a new breed of genetically superior supercops created to utilize their adversaries’ techniques against them.
