Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (Japanese: VS. 3: Fate of Two Worlds; Mvuru bsasu in Japanese: Feito obu T Wrudo) Kapukon Sur Capcom and Eighting collaborated on this crossover fighting game. The game incorporates characters from both Capcom’s video game franchises and Marvel Comics’ comic book series. It was published in February 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. It is the sixth game in the Marvel vs. Capcom series and the first to feature three-dimensional character models rather than sprites. In Marvel vs. Capcom 3, players choose a team of three characters to fight and try to knock out their opponents. It includes tag team game principles similar to previous games in the series and new modes of play to make the game more approachable to novice players. Ryota Niitsuma, who previously worked on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, created the game using the same streamlined three-button assault system. Critics gave the game mostly decent reviews, praising its gameplay and character roster but criticizing its online component and lack of features and game types. A month after its introduction, more than 2 million devices were shipped globally, making it a commercial success. Less than a year after its first release, Capcom unveiled an enhanced game version, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The standalone update, which included new characters, levels, and gameplay adjustments, was published in November 2011.
