Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance expands the iconic Metal Gear franchise into thrilling new territory by providing an all-new action experience unlike before. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance brings together two of the world’s most respected development teams, Kojima Productions, and PlatinumGames, with the common goal of providing players with a fresh synergetic experience that combines the best elements of pure action and epic storytelling, all within the expansive MG universe. The game’s core character is Raiden, a juvenile soldier converted into a half-man, half-machine cyborg ninja armed with a high-frequency katana sword and a soul fuelled by vengeance. Cyborg technology will be ubiquitous in society shortly. Three years have passed since the Patriots system, which had secretly manipulated the global power balance from the shadows, collapsed. Peace, on the other hand, remains elusive. As those who manage the trade acquire more power, the spread of cybernetic technology has caused instability and violence.

Furthermore, massive ‘Private Military Companies,’ or PMCs, backed and controlled by the Patriots, have collapsed, producing a slew of renegade groups with links to more significant criminal organizations. These rogue PMCs using cyborg technology have grown more disruptive, altering policies and power at will. Raiden lives by the philosophy of safeguarding and saving lives as a member of the peace-keeping PMC ‘Maverick Security.’ But, as the globe descends into asymmetrical conflict, the only way ahead is to resolve his history and carve through anything that stands in his way.
