Players can do as much or as little as they want in Endless Ocean, which is one of its best features. Divers are free to explore special places like shipwrecks and underwater ruins, discover and interact with sea life, fill out fish logs, or just relax in the game’s calm and relaxing atmosphere.

At the start of the game, players are on a diving boat with a crew member who tells them where to find the best fish and helps them move the story along. Players take on the role of the diver and can choose to go into the water at their own pace to look at sea life with tools like a camera or fish bait. Divers can check out the fish that have been seen and do missions like taking pictures of marine life from the boat’s cabin, where they can also look at the fish log. These missions give you access to new content, like new items you can use the underwater or different diving gear you can use to change the look of the diver.

Players use the Wii remote to move their character through the depths, and the pointer’s cursor, which is a bright blue dot, shows them where to go. Players can interact with fish or plants by putting the pointer on them and pressing the A button. By doing this, players learn about new kinds of fish and add them to their fish log. You can also make friends with other creatures, like a dolphin, which will become your partner and train and swim with you.

Endless Ocean has several relaxing modes for players who really want to chill out. The player can sit in a deckchair on the boat’s deck and watch the sea. In the aquarium part of the game, players can choose fish they have already seen and put them in an aquarium so they can look at them more closely. Also, if you don’t touch the Wii Remote, this game can also be used as a calm screensaver. Hayley Westenra, a singer from New Zealand, provides a soothing soundtrack that fits the mood of the film.

If players want to dive with a friend, they can use the Wii’s WiFi Connection Service to link up with them. Two players can dive and explore the ocean together if they give each other their friend codes. In this co-op mode, they can use all of the tools that are available in the single-player mode. They can also use the D-pad to control a second way to talk to each other. Endless Ocean will keep you busy for hours with a fish logbook to fill out, items to find and save, and the ability to listen to your own MP3s through the Wii SD Card slot while you dive.
