The plot progresses through a series of points marked on a map. To proceed through the tale and open up more points, the player must battle the creatures, accomplish a quest, visit a town, or engage in a discussion at each point. Fighting is similar to a strategy RPG in that each character has their own set of moves, but by moving each character to the appropriate square, you may link them together and pull-off combinations. Each character will replenish AP and SP points after each round of combat. Characters can launch special attacks once they have collected enough SP points.
The game has dating sim features through its “Soul Breed” system. The player produces a new character by pursuing a relationship with a female character[6], as the game’s storyline spans five generations, each featuring a different male protagonist. For the first four generations, the protagonist marries one of his three female friends, and their kid becomes the protagonist of the following generation, inheriting his parents’ stats and skills.
