The first-person shooter series Call of Duty is currently on its eleventh main installment with the release of Advanced Warfare. In the future, in the year 2054, the story of the single-player campaign takes place during a time when Atlas, a private military firm directed by Jonathan Irons, has become the most powerful military organization on the globe. The player assumes control of Jack Mitchell, who begins the game serving in the United States Marine Corps. He is currently stationed in Seoul, South Korea, with Will Irons. Will was one of the 6,000 marines who lost their lives during a successful but deadly campaign against North Korea. Jack also lost his left arm during the raid. At the funeral, Jack’s father, Jonathan, approaches him and offers him a job at Atlas, where he will receive a high-tech prosthetic arm. Jonathan also gives him the job. As the plot progresses, it spans several years and locations, gradually illuminating Atlas’ motivations. The characters Gideon, Joker, Ilona, and his old sergeant Cormack are crucial to the plot. The United States of America, Greece, Bulgaria, Nigeria, South Korea, Thailand, Antarctica, and Iraq are among the countries and locales explored in the game.
Mitchell can use advanced exosuits that significantly boost the soldier’s capabilities because the game takes place in the future. Each mission grants access to a unique sort of suit with its own set of abilities, such as the capacity to perform a double leap, to use a grappling hook, to hover through the use of boosts, to become invisible through the use of a cloak, to fire grenades, to give a shield or additional health, to climb metallic surfaces, and so on. Compared to previous titles in the Call of Duty series, this installment features a more significant number of slower action sequences, the option to play stealthily, and several more open environments, allowing players to take a variety of various strategies. Earning points by completing challenges will allow you to enhance Mitchell, allowing him to reload his weapon more quickly and withstand more damage. Different missions will award you other vehicles, such as a hoverbike, a speedboat that can dive underwater, hefty mech suits, a tank, or a fighter jet. The game does not use a conventional HUD; all of the information is holographically shown on the weapon itself. In addition to traditional firearms and grenades, other weapons use lasers or other forms of energy.
Capture the Flag and Hardpoint are two multiplayer game modes returning from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Other multiplayer game modes include Momentum, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. Momentum is based on the War game mode featured in Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War. The objective-based Uplink mode is entirely new, centered on hauling satellites with two teams of between four and six players each. This particular loadout is a modification of the Black Ops II Pick-10 Create-A-Class system, referred to as the Pick 13 system. Thirteen items or abilities can be stored in a player’s inventory. These can include a primary weapon that can be customized with a variety of attachments, various perks, scorestreak prizes, and other options. The ability to personalize Scorestreaks is a novelty for the series; however, doing so will raise the cost of the reward. In addition, there are recurrent supply drops that can deliver equipment from one of three tiers: enroll (standard), professional (uncommon), or elite (rare). These include specialized weaponry and other items for customization known as reinforcements. An armory is used to keep all of the goods obtained, but those items can also be traded in for further experience if desired. The suit abilities can be used, just like they are in the single-player mode, and some of them, like boost and the grappling hook, significantly affect the player’s movement.
There is an additional standalone game mode, which is now named Exo Survival. This model is comparable to the ones found in Call of Duty: MW3 and Call of Duty: Ghosts. One to four players must cooperate to make it through a series of rounds while fending off hordes of foes. There are eleven rounds, and you must first unlock each of the four tiers.
