The game, which was modified from the original poem, shows Dante’s trip through the nine circles of Hell in quest of his love, Beatrice, who was brutally murdered and abducted by Satan. The game was inspired by the original poem. Dante’s journey through Hell is brought to life in the video game by a combination of computer-generated imagery (CGI) and traditional animation.

Dante’s Inferno is a single-player game that may be completed with a campaign that lasts for about seven hours.

The visual direction of Dante’s Inferno is frequently breathtaking, thanks in large part to the involvement of Wayne Barlowe, the artist who created a graphic depiction of Dante’s Inferno. The polygonal reproduction of Hell that Visceral has created is eerie and terrifying in equal measure, just as it should be. It has a macabre and gloomy aesthetic, and playing it is probably not going to be anyone’s idea of a good time. Nevertheless, there’s no reason for it to be any other way.

Dante’s Inferno, much like Visceral’s previous release, Dead Space, is loaded with outstanding examples of audio design. Although there are some spots in the game when the voice acting is less than stellar (Virgil, we’re looking at you), the mood that is created through the use of a variety of different backing sounds is what really drives the twisted setting of Inferno.
