The following game in the DeathSpank series is titled DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue. Ron Gilbert likewise developed it, and it employs a framework for action role-playing games that is comparable to the one used in the original game.
The narrative picks up precisely where DeathSpank left off, with DeathSpank realizing that his Thong of Justice is only one of six mythical Thongs of Virtue. However, the other Thongs have corrupted their wearers, which include a nun, a prominent TV chef, and Santa Claus. DeathSpank needs to overcome these individuals to end the evil that the corrupted Thongs are causing once and for all.
The first game was a spoof on common fantasy themes, but the second game travels and makes fun of more modern settings. The new locales, which range from a war-torn countryside reminiscent of World War II to the old West, each come with several new weaponry that are contextually relevant. DeathSpank’s inventory of weaponry for meting out justice has been expanded to include guns, grenades, bazookas, flamethrowers, and even more odd weapons! In addition, over 20 new and one-of-a-kind pieces of armor will protect DeathSpank as he continues his mission to liberate the oppressed.
The game offers a more significant number of optional tasks than DeathSpank and places a greater emphasis on the resolution of puzzles (the Monkey Island component of the equation). While the cast of DeathSpank welcomes back a few recognizable NPCs, it also welcomes many new characters, all of whom are voiced.
Steve is the name of DeathSpank’s new crime partner in the game’s cooperative mode. It is said that Steve is the long-lost son of Lord Von Prong and that marketing ninjas were responsible for his upbringing. He travels on a pygmy unicorn, brandishes two swords and a fistful of shurikens, can heal DeathSpank, and can sing in operatic style. Sparkles the Wizard, the player’s sidekick from the previous game, is still accessible for use during co-op play as well.
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue is the conclusion to DeathSpank’s Thong saga, and it is at least twice as large as the original game. It features more environments, more weaponry, and more objectives, all of which are completed in the service of justice.
