In the parallel realm of Wasteland, which contains 80 years’ worth of abandoned Disney characters and theme park attractions, Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit are back.

However, Mickey and Oswald will work together as true partners for the first time; Mickey will use his enchanted paintbrush, which gives him the ability to use paint and thinner, and Oswald will use his potent remote control, which gives him the ability to control electricity. The concept of “PlayStyle Matters,” which Warren Spector pioneered, is furthered by this new co-op game. Players dynamically tackle various tasks to explore all options and plotlines, but there are repercussions for their chosen actions.

“Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” is the first video game that can be referred to as a “musical,” staying loyal to Disney’s rich musical tradition. Many times throughout the quest, characters will use entirely original music and lyrics to express themselves in song, furthering the plot. Players will hear songs and instrumentation that alter based on their personal decisions in addition to this innovative musical approach to narrative, ultimately allowing each player to “lead” their own individual soundtrack. For the creation of these musical gameplay components, Disney Interactive has sought the assistance of Emmy Award-winning composer James Dooley and renowned lyricist Mike Himelstein.
