The plot is cleverly designed despite some translation problems. You take on the role of a faery that has just come out of stasis. The faery king informs you that the faery society and its residents are disappearing as a result of humans’ loss of faith in faeries. Even though the idea is the simplest possible, it has that whiff of “what if?” intrigue found in the best fairy tales. We become emotionally attached as a result of the setup. You are asked to assemble a group of magical beings and prevent the end of the world. The game takes place in four distinct settings, some of which are inspired by real-world legends, such as the Yggdrasil tree and the Flying Dutchman ghost ship.
Faery: Legends of Avalon is a very conventional turn-based role-playing game in terms of gameplay. Your party grows as you add magical beings that can all be employed in combat. Everything is fairly simple to understand. Action points, which rise as you level up, are the main component of the battle system. Attacks are limited by action points, and some actions require more than one action point to complete. Your battle tactics will take different forms for each member of your party; Bert the Troll is a great tank, while Aziel has some potent healing abilities. Even though there aren’t many turn-based RPGs on the PlayStation 3, this thinly veiled material sticks out.
Faery might be just what you’re looking for if you want something slightly eccentric and lengthy. It’s a cute little RPG with some beautiful locations to discover.
