Story

Cole MacGrath, the main character from the first inFAMOUS game, returns in this sequel to complete his narrative. The first thing that happens is that Cole is thrust into a fight against a massive foe known as The Beast. Very little is known about the beast, including its purpose and who or what it is. After being defeated, Cole was able to flee the destruction of Empire City, and he, his partner Zeke Dunbar, and an NSA agent named Lucy Kuo, with whom he had paired up to defeat The Beast, set the ship for the city of New Marais, which is located farther to the south. His objective is to make The Beast more vulnerable with the help of the Ray Field Inhibitor device so that he can defeat it once and for all.

However, throughout his time in New Marais, he won’t only have the opportunity to get ready for the next battle in his spare time. Instead, he is involved in a struggle with local gangs and men attempting to destroy all of the conduits like Cole, while on the other hand, there is a swamp populated with a variety of different beasts. While he is on his mission to locate the necessary Blast Cores that can power the Ray Inhibitor Device, he will need to undertake a variety of other jobs and quests in the town and the surrounding area to improve his powers and either assist the people living in New Marais or become the thing that should be feared.

Cole may cross paths with Nix, a female conduit harboring resentment for the man in charge of one of the city gangs. In the meantime, agent Lucy Kuo would eventually transform into a line after being subjected to experiments. Lucy and Nix will frequently place Cole in a situation where he must decide whether to approach a specific assignment positively or negatively. This decision will affect Cole’s karma. In the end, Cole will discover the true identity of The Beast and its purpose, which will allow him to decide whether he wants to thwart it or assist it in carrying out its scheme.

Gameplay

Most of the prior abilities from the first game remain included, along with some brand-new ones. In the previous version of the game, each button combination was only utilized for a single power. However, in this game version, Cole can purchase other muscles of the same caliber, allowing him to assign the button combination he wants to use to the power he wants to use. It is impossible to use unassigned powers until they have been posted. The game gives you the option to use a save game file from inFAMOUS to improve your karma to a higher level, to begin with.

Your karma will shift toward a blue or red bar depending on whether you conduct good or wicked activities. This will enable you to purchase new powers that correspond to the karma kind, as you cannot have both simultaneously. Several side quests are pretty similar to those seen in the previous game. These include aiding citizens, guarding them from gangs, turning on electricity, taking photographs, and many more. Certain side quests focus more on either good or evil and can only be completed in one of two ways: as a good or a lousy side mission, but not both. Being wrong will cause the town’s citizens and the police to turn against you and everyone else, but you won’t have to worry about collateral damage if you choose this path. Being decent will win you many allies, but you still need to be careful about where you aim your shots.

Cole, a man of electricity, can glide through the air using zip lines, but he must avoid getting his hands wet at all costs. You don’t have to worry about dying if you climb any structure or fall from any height. This time, you will also be outfitted for close combat, allowing you to unleash lethal combos. Certain monsters are vulnerable only when engaged in a tight battle, while others are immune to damage dealt by lightning blasts from a distance. There are a lot of powerful foes in this game, and the vast majority of them each have a specific vulnerability or a single kind of strike that can easily take them down. You can heal injured civilians, even in groups, if you enhance your healing power, restrain your adversaries, or draw on their life force to charge yourself, just like in the previous game.
