The game abandons the desert environments of the original title in favor of “a lush island environment, full of interactive vegetation,” as well as monster trucks and four-player split-screen support. Monster trucks can ride over cars (except big rigs), destroy structures, and break most vegetation. Bikes can also bunny hop, and the driver can duck, thanks to new capabilities. Custom music tracks are available, as are trophies (to unlock more Drivers and Vehicles), and camera angles for crashes have been improved; vehicle damage has also been improved. Users can now select drivers from the Garage menu, eliminating the need to pick vehicles based on the Driver’s gender. The game begins with “Speed” events, which consist of numerous checkpoints in each track that users must pass through to achieve extra times before the timer runs out. Any class other than ATVs and Bikes can ram their vehicles to the left or right. The ATV and bike are rammed by their driver, punching the other drivers.
