Star Ocean: The Last Hope – International, unique to the Playstation 3, is an improved version of the game initially released for the Xbox 360. This version adds numerous new features that were absent from the game’s first edition.
The player options in the sound and visuals categories are the most noticeable additions to the game’s progression. You can choose Japanese or English voices, as well as six different languages for non-voiced conversation (English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish), character visuals (traditional anime 2D or more modern 3D), and many new soundtracks. Both the menu and targeting systems in combat have undergone extensive revisions and improvements, respectively. Irene, Crowe, Welch, and Giotto are the four new non-playable characters added to the narrative. The player cannot control these characters.
