The Tony Hawk: Shred video game was released in 2010 as a sequel to the Tony Hawk: Ride video game, a spin-off of the Tony Hawk franchise. The game is a skateboarding simulation controlled by motion and based on its peripherals. In addition to bringing snowboarding gameplay to the franchise, Shred also adds support for Avatars and Miis to the game’s Xbox 360 and Wii versions, respectively. The “surfing” feature of the game was being developed at one point, but it was ultimately canceled owing to a lack of resources and time to finish the mode.
