Crash Bandicoot: The Great Adventure is included in this collection. Crash Bandicoot makes his Game Boy Advance debut in this fifth adventure against arch-enemy Dr. Neo Cortex. This time, Cortex has shrunk the planet to a microscopic size, and it is up to Crash to explore the 20 levels filled with deadly animals and terrain in search of crystals that will (hopefully) restore the world to its normal size. Crash travels through four planets, each divided into five levels. Levels span from side-scrolling action to underwater swimming to 3D pursuit sequences (akin to those in the original Playstation series) meant to create a 3D illusion using the GBA’s unique FX characteristics. You’ll also encounter flying shoot-them-up stages, monster levels after each globe, and the typical bonus levels and hidden treasures. Season of Ice Spyro the Dragon returns for his debut Game Boy Advance adventure. Grendor has turned all of the fairies of the Dragon Realms into ice blocks this time and has dispatched his band of Rhynoc soldiers to collect them and utilize them to relieve his headache. Only Spyro’s firepower, together with Hunter and Sparx’s assistance, can save the fairies from a Panadol future. Seasons of Ice, unlike the Playstation series, has the player piloting Spyro from an isometric perspective. However, Spyro’s abilities, including his flame breath and glide, remain available. The flying bonus levels (identical to the original Sonic bonus levels) employ Mode 7 technology to produce a 3D-like viewpoint (as seen in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and F-Zero: Maximum Velocity).
