The player takes on the character of a Saxon warrior (Wilfred of Ivanhoe, Cedric of Rotherwood, Geoffrey Longsword, or Wolfric the Wild), and their objective is to fend off the Norman invasion and tussle for control of England. At some point, the player will need to engage in combat to take control of all areas, including those Saxon lands that belong to other Saxons who have turned into your enemies. The player must build troops and engage in pitched battles to possess their opponents’ castles.
