An old samurai commander has made a comeback and is now leading a new army of demons to conquer the world. However, rather than rely on unreliable minions, he turns innocent animals into fierce fighters. A ninja master realizes that each change upsets the natural order and causes natural disasters such as storms and earthquakes. He decides to dispatch his most skilled ninja disciples to reestablish equilibrium. When none of them return, he is forced to rely on his only remaining option, the young ninja Hiro and his blunt companion Futo. The players take control of the characters as they travel through several worlds utilizing a third-person perspective, and they have a fair degree of leeway to investigate the surrounding area. When the characters are in a state of confusion, they have the option to meditate to obtain a clue and see an arrow that indicates the approximate direction of the next objective.

They will replicate the other warriors’ actions throughoutinally, liberate four of them and make them available for gameplay. The player is free to swap between any of the available characters at any time. Every ninja possesses a unique set of skills. Hiro is the only ninja who can cast Kuji spells, making him a versatile personality. Attacks, such as fireballs, whirlwinds, and the power to enter a spirit form, which allows one to take control of animals and command them to fight, can be unlocked by finding hidden shrines and praying at them.

Additionally, they make locating goods and collectibles scattered across the area simpler. Animals are held captive in cages, although they may also appear when an adversary has been defeated; at this point, they revert to their natural form. Because Futo swings a massive hammer, he is particularly effective in combat with larger foes. Other playable characters include Suzume, a young girl armed with a flute that can captivate foes when she plays music; Shun, a master with the bow; Tora, a man who believes he is a tiger and has large metal claws to prove it; and Kunoichi, an acrobat armed with a long spear. All of these characters become accessible as the game progresses.

The players’ characters are equipped with standard strikes, a defense breaker that can stun their foes, and the ability to block. Moves such as jumping, running along walls, and hanging from ledges are acrobatic. Every character has access to a sneak mode, which allows them to conceal themselves in the environment or grass to deal more damage when attacking or simply to avoid conflicts. The player’s health can be replenished by harvesting fruit, and goods can be collected from various locales. When new recipes are purchased, these ingredients can be incorporated into potions, explosives, and power-ups. As characters level up, they get access to improved skills, and each possesses a unique focus attack that can deal significantly more damage.
