The third-person action shooter and puzzle game Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus is played from the perspective of the Nexus. It is meant to serve as an epilogue to the “Future” subseries, which consists of the following titles: Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time. This entry is shorter than previous entries in the series. Additionally, the game can be played in tandem with Before the Nexus if desired.
Ratchet and Clank find out that the Twins have developed their own Dimensionator after a notorious criminal by the name of Vendra Prog breaks out of prison with the assistance of her twin brother Neftin. By doing so, the Twins have allowed beings from a realm known as the Nethers to pass through the portal. Mr. Eye is in charge of these monsters.
The player primarily assumes control of Ratchet during the game, during which they use a variety of weaponry and gadgets from previous entries in the series, in addition to some more recent additions. Clank assists Ratchet in mobility by utilizing the Heli Pack to drive himself forward or hover on the ground safely. It has the potential to be modified into a Jetpack in the future.
When playing certain parts of the game, the player will assume control of Clank and travel through the Netherverse like a side scroller. In these portions, Clank must manage gravity and solve puzzles to bring the Nether back to the portal to produce an “earthquake” and break down the barrier preventing the two from progressing farther.
Ratchet advances in level whenever he is successful in combat and receives additional health points. You may improve your weapons by regular use (which will automatically collect nanometers from defeated foes) and by using Raritanium, a rare material found around the cosmos. Several elements from earlier games have been brought back, including upgradable suits of armor (which may be purchased from merchants), skill points, cheats, and gold bolts.
