The plot of the game follows Boku, a nine-year-old kid who is taken to live with his aunt and uncle in the rural countryside of Japan, and the daily adventures he has while he is there. The fact that Boku is there is because his mother is in her last month of pregnancy. The player assumes control of him for the entirety of August 1975 (in Japan, a summer break is known as natsuyasumi (なつやすみ), and it typically lasts for one month). You go throughout the game world and have the opportunity to catch bugs and make them fight one another, collect bottle caps, fly a kite, or just relax.
