Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi

After 260 years of samurai control, the shogunate’s grip on the kingdom began to deteriorate as forces nominally loyal to the emperor foment instability and opposition throughout the country. The Shinsengumi was founded to counteract escalating violence and to safeguard the shogun and the populace from dangerous ronin. As the country approaches conflict, Chizuru journeys to Kyoto to search for her missing father. In short succession, she faces both danger and the Shinsengumi. Chizuru seeks the protection of the Shinsengumi after learning that they are also seeking her father. However, as they desperately seek the solution, they soon find themselves at the center of political intrigue, magical power battles, and much more.
