Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest

Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) is the platform for the swashbuckling action-adventure game Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest. Gamers take on the role of Jack Sparrow, a notorious (or at the very least “heard of”) pirate. The game is a non-linear, action-packed, three-dimensional game emphasizing pick-it-up/put-it-down gameplay. Throughout the game, the player engages in sword fights with the undead, swings from the rigging, flees from cannibals, and frees treasure that has been booby-trapped. The multiplayer mode of Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest is a ship combat game that allows one to four players to compete against each other in various ship-to-ship cannon battles over a wireless network. Players select one of five unique ships to fight against one another in the game. The game features a sophisticated upgrading system that fully lets players customize their ship and crew between matches. Players also have access to several maps and power-ups reminiscent of pirate games.
