You have the option in Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII to either end the anarchy or further your personal aspirations. In a single game, you can take control of as many as eight characters, ranging from a devoted officer who aids his lord to a renegade general who charts his course to fame and money. Even though the game depicts historically significant relationships, such as the brotherhood between Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei, it also allows you to form new connections between the characters. On the battlefield at this point, practically all of China’s forces from the second century are interacting with one another.
