WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2006

This installment continues the Smackdown vs. Raw era, which now uses a yearly date in the title, similar to other sports titles. The game features an updated wrestler roster and many classic superstars like Bret Hart and British Bulldog. It includes many new arenas from recent Pay-Per-Views and a traditional Wrestlemania 9 arena. The storyline features newly recorded dialogue for many wrestlers as the player progresses through many plots in Season Mode, chasing championship belts. The gameplay has been slightly improved, with a more extensive list of moves available to each wrestler and pre-match mini-games to determine who has the upper hand. Another new feature is the General Manager Mode, in which the player assumes the role of a GM attempting to book a weekly show. The objectives of this mode are to consider the costs of contracting wrestlers, keeping a chosen wrestler happy and healthy, and putting on matches and setting up feuds to keep the show’s ratings high. It is also possible to earn Smackdown Dollars in the game, which can be used to purchase new moves, create-a-wrestler items, Legends wrestlers, and even locker room furniture. The player can earn trophies for his trophy case by completing challenges and beating the GM Mode.
