The Xbox game Xyanide Resurrection is a sequel to Xyanide. It takes place following the events of the first game. Aguirre, the evil space witch, is still alive after escaping her death sentence. It’s up to the executioner Drake to track her down and bring her to justice. Aguira has used cyanide to create a weird realm where Drake must roam and face innumerable enemies. Xyanide Resurrection is a third-person shooter in the style of a rail shooter. The player pilots a spaceship through the universe. The ship moves forward automatically, but the player can move it up and down and left and right to dodge enemy fire.

The player can swivel the perspective as the enemies strike from all angles. When adversaries are defeated, they drop cyanide fragments that the player can collect. Xyanide heals but may also be used to buy upgrades and new weapons at the store between stages. When first launched, the spacecraft is outfitted with a rudimentary fusion gun that fires single shots and bombs when more giant explosions are required. Three additional weapons can be purchased: a shotgun, a laser, and rockets. It is also possible to buy a magnet to make collecting cyanide easier and a shield that can withstand some damage. The game’s story mode consists of five stages that must be completed in order. Levels for the rapid play option are unlocked as the player progresses through the story mode. A digital comic book and artwork can also be obtained. There is also a score attack mode in which the player must accumulate as many points as possible before time runs out. The multiplayer mode is designed for two players to compete for the highest score by collecting pickups.
