Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem is based on the film of the same name and continues the Aliens and Predator franchises’ mingling. The film’s basic premise is followed. Picking up where the original movie left off, a group of predators travels back to the homeworld with a predalien, a survivor impregnated with an alien embryo. The ship crashes on Earth in an attempt to kill the creature who possesses the strengths and weaknesses of both species. Facehuggers impregnate a father and son who investigate the vessel, allowing the aliens to continue colonizing the planet. When a lone predator scout discovers that the ship has crashed, he travels to Earth to clear it of the intruders. From a third-person perspective, players control the predator. While humans and aliens battle, his primary mission is to dissolve and disintegrate all evidence of extraterrestrial life. During the course of the game, the aliens are the main enemies, but humans will also engage the predator when he is sighted. The predator can activate a cloak, which consumes energy and must be recharged periodically by returning to normal mode. When the cover comes into contact with water, it vanishes. He also has three vision modes (tech, thermal, and alien) to help him better understand his surroundings. Enemies can be locked to make tracking them easier while they are moving. The shoulder buttons control the camera, while the analog stick is used to move around. Next to basic wrist attacks, he has additional weapons such as a shoulder cannon, hand cannon, and a disc that can be thrown. The available weapons can be selected before starting a mission. These can be upgraded after tasks are completed. He can also zoom in (go into first-person mode) and tag aliens to gain honor points. These can be used to improve weapons and are also given out when no humans are killed. Jumping, breaking through walls, climbing, and shaking off aliens when pinned down are all basic movements. A certain amount of evidence must usually be removed before proceeding. The game features branching mission paths with vastly different settings. While playing, aWhile playing, a map can be displayed to show the environment, enemies, and objectives. In addition to the main storyline, there are skirmish matches that two players can play cooperatively.
