FIFA Soccer 07 is the soccer series’ third appearance on the PSP. It improves on the previous year’s version with new rosters, control options, and game modes. The game includes the same 27 leagues from 20 countries (including the Turkish league) and various rest-of-the-world and international teams as the console version. Kick-Off for friendlies, tournaments, and challenges (with 31 new comebacks and 30 new rout challenges) and wi-fi multiplayer are returning modes (ad-hoc and infrastructure). The manager mode, already present in console versions, makes its PSP debut in this game. In addition to success on the field, players are tasked with managing a club team, sponsor relations, the club board, and fan relations. Manager careers on the PSP are compatible with those on the PS2 version and can be swapped via the PS2-PSP link. Player training via mini-games (also available separately) is exclusive to the PSP version: the returning Juggling and the new Wall Attack. Wall Attack aims to kick the ball against a wall of colored blocks for points, with a certain number required within a time limit to advance to the next level. Some blocks include icons that perform additional functions, such as clearing neighboring blocks or blocks of the same color. Chip shots and various new configurations are among the new control options. There is a choice between player control via analog stick or d-pad (but without on-the-fly tactics changes) and optional PES-style button layout. For the 2007-08 season, FIFA 07 sponsored Accrington Stanley, with the FIFA 07 logo displayed on the back of the team’s shirts.
