Ford Makes a Bold Move Razorworks has included Street Racing as the third game in the licensed Ford Racing series they have made since taking over production of the Ford Racing series with Ford Racing 2. In contrast to those that came before it, this incarnation has a more urban vibe. The circuit circuits, road races, and off-road challenges have all been removed, and the action has been relegated to the streets of Los Angeles, where 24 distinct tracks are available. The 18 vehicles are all Ford, ranging from the 1968 Mustang GT to the 2007 Shelby GT 500. This is identical to the previous version. The main game modes are Quick, Team Racing, Solo Racing, and Multiplayer Racing. Solo Racing consists of brief races and championships in which players fight for new vehicles and race tracks. True innovation may be found in the Team Racing approach, which can be played in single races, team championships, challenges, and lessons. Team Racing allows the player to operate two or three automobiles simultaneously as part of a single team during a race in several game modes such as Race, Elimination, and Duel. To influence the driving behavior of their teammates, the player must either switch between vehicles to drive (the other cars are then controlled by artificial intelligence) or issue orders such as Block (to slow down another vehicle) or Draft (to gain additional speed in the slipstream). The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. This concept can contain two or three activities that generate the same result. When automobiles cannot drive forward, they must utilize their brakes and weave across the track. Players can earn credits by competing in races or completing specific tasks. These credits can then be used to buy new vehicles from the dealership. Despite the game’s metropolitan setting, there are no tuning options.

Automobiles can only be viewed, repaired, and sold. The PSP version adds seven new race tracks and six new Ford automobiles (1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster, 1971 Mustang Mach 1, 2004 Bronco Concept, 2005 Shelby GR-1 Concept, and 2005 Thunderbird). Team Racing mode allows players to control two cars (or three in console versions), and Wi-Fi-based solo and team multiplayer is supported. There is also an alternative release of Ford Street Racing (XR Edition) for the Australian PlayStation 2, which includes four additional autos from Ford’s history in Australia. The 1970 Ford XY GT Falcon, the 1970 Ford XY GTHO Falcon (Phase III), the 2003 Falcon XR8 Ute, and the Australian Falcon XR8 are among these vehicles. Both of these vehicles were made in Australia. Furthermore, that version is the only PSP release available in Australia.
