Madden NFL 08

Madden NFL 08 is the third installment in the series for the PlayStation Portable. It is very similar to the version released the year before and retained most of its modes while introducing a new one. However, it includes some of the additional features introduced in the game’s console versions. The “play now” mode, the franchise mode (which features a revamped interface), the practice mode, and the mini-camp mode are all returning. The “End 2 End” minigame from the previous year has been replaced with the new “Superstar Challenge” mode. The game puts players in various authentic scenarios based on matches from the 2006 NFL season. It challenges them to imitate the acts of notable players, such as scoring touchdowns in the last seconds of the game or throwing long throws. The new “weapon” system introduced on the consoles has been ported over to this iteration, enabling players to check for mismatches at the line more efficiently. Ad-hoc and online multiplayer and connectivity to the PS2 version, which allows franchisees to be transferred between the two platforms, are returning elements.
