The first installment in the series of video games, Nobunaga’s Ambition (also known as Nobunaga no Yabou), was released in Japan in 1983. The Japanese video game developer Koei is responsible for creating this series of historical simulations, which are only loosely based on actual events. It has a voice track that is primarily in Japanese. However, some English dubs appear during the movie’s cutscenes. It was released before Romance of the Three Kingdoms but hasn’t received as much attention from the localization community. The events of Nobunaga’s Ambition took place in Japan during the time known as the Warring States. The player’s objective in this game is to accomplish the ultimate goal of warlord Oda Nobunaga, which is the conquest and unification of Japan, as suggested by the game’s title. However, selecting Nobunaga is not required because the player can pick from a wide range of other daimyo from other regions during that period. The seventh installment in the Nobunaga no Yabou series is titled “Nobunaga no Yabou – Shouseiroku.”
