PaRappa, the rapping pup, fantasizes about impressing his friend, the lovely Sunny Funny, and going on a date with her. But he lacks confidence, so he helps PaRappa rap his way through learning Kung Fu, a driving test, cooking, and other activities to get the girl. Remember, you must believe it! PaRappa the Rapper is a songwriting, music, and rhythm game. The game is simple – each stage has a ‘teacher’ who PaRappa must obey. The teacher will say some lyrics, and PaRappa must mimic him by pressing the appropriate buttons to repeat those lyrics back. Rap well, and you’ll be able to keep going; fudge the songs, and the music will begin to distort, and the teacher will become irritated. If you continue to make mistakes, you will fail the stage. Of course, the goal is to outperform the teacher, which you can do by improvising in the gaps in the song. Listen to how the song progresses and improvise in time to the music; if you perform well enough, the teacher will step aside, and you will be free to freestyle on your own! The PSP version is a remake of the PlayStation version. However, it includes a few upgrades, such as a 16:9 display, sharper graphics, game sharing, multiplayer support for up to four players, and the addition of song remixes, which can be downloaded onto your Memory Stick Duo via the internet.
