“That is no longer acceptable. You were privy to the information. There is a story about a boy who can see AYAKASHI, which is invisible to the naked sight.” Crime rates are increasing every day in modern society. This occurs due to evil spirits crossing over from the spirit world to the human world. These ghosts are unseen by the naked sight. Yto Ishigami was thrown out of the third-floor window by a classmate who became angry but survived without a scratch. However, Yuuto has been seeing unusual things since that day. “Ayakashi” are these weird objects. The fact that he can see them proves that the power that had been dormant within him has been reawakened. The player will explore the school as Yto, looking for artifacts a spirit may occupy.
When the player discovers an object thought to be possessed, they can photograph it using a cell phone. Every time the player snaps a photo, 5 minutes of game time is added. During conflicts, the player can summon a spirit by sending an e-mail with a specific image from their mobile phone. Tsukumonogatari incorporates the “power of words” into its warfare system. Several people attend Yto’s school, including his buddies and school staff members. The player can roam around the school, talking to different people and discussing with them. They will occasionally tell the player a proverb, rumor, or story. “Words” are what they are. Various “words” can be attached to spirits during battle to give them different abilities, and they are essential for fighting the Ayakashi. When combat begins, the player can summon a spirit and give it up to three “words” to determine its battle skills.
