WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009

With the 2009 edition, the Smackdown vs. Raw series continues. This game improves on the tag team action with a new Hot-Tag mode, tag team finishers, and new match-helping activities. As with the previous game, the roster includes over 60 Smackdown, Raw, and ECW superstars. The game consists of a roster editor that allows players to change the superstars on the registration and their appearance from face to heel. However, this is the first Smackdown game since Here Comes the Pain, in which no legends appear. Another new feature is Create-a-Finisher, allowing players to choose from over 500 animations to create unique finishing moves. During online matches, these can also be shared. The game has two story modes: Road to Wrestlemania and Career mode. The Road to Wrestlemania mode allows the player to experience six different stories involving wrestlers Triple H, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, and John Cena, as well as a co-op storyline involving Batista and Rey Mysterio. Career mode has taken the place of GM Mode in previous games. This mode allows the player to create superstar careers and upgrade custom wrestlers. Other features include the Highlight Reel, which enables the player to create videos from his matches, new Inferno and Gauntlet matches, and new backstage brawl positions.
