WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 is a professional wrestling video game based on WWE’s Raw and SmackDown brands. One of the most significant changes in the game is adding a new physics system that allows objects, such as those used in the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match, to be used more realistically. Tables now break in different ways depending on the force applied to them. Ladders can now be broken in half inside and outside the ring by resting them on the ring ropes. Chairs can be thrown at your opponents for the first time since the original WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw game. The Hell in a Cell match has been updated with more enormous cell walls, weapons beneath the ring, steel steps near the poles, and removing the cell door.
Furthermore, the game introduces new ways to escape the steel cage. The new “WWE Universe” mode replaces the previous games’ career mode. Based on the wrestled matches, the method creates storylines and integrates cut scenes and rivalries between wrestlers. Before, during, and after the game, these cut scenes appear at random. Backstage roaming, mini-quests, and interaction with other Superstars have been added to the Road to WrestleMania mode. Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Christian, and Chris Jericho have playable storylines. Along with that comes a new storyline in which players can choose from Kofi Kingston, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, or a created superstar to end The Undertaker’s unbeaten WrestleMania streak.
