Misa Yamamura, a Japanese writer of murder mystery books, inspired Kyouto Anba Sansou Satsujin Jiken, a murder mystery adventure game. The story’s protagonist is Akiko Sonoyama, a freelancer who finds herself in the thick of a murder investigation after the host’s son dies at the dinner right after drinking the wine—A remake of the original 3D0. The main difference is that all live actors have been replaced with silhouettes. The game interface has been changed to look like a mystery visual novel but with selectable actions such as talk or inquiry, which makes the game less of a typical graphic novel and only resembles it in a graphical presentation by using static backgrounds with dialogue text over it.
