Fire Emblem has been exclusive to Japan for the past 13 years, but it has now made its way to Western markets with the release of Fire Emblem: Rekka No Ken, simply referred to as Fire Emblem in Western markets. This first western installment in the Fire Emblem series takes place twenty years before the events of the previous game. The story focuses on three protagonists named Eliwood, Hector, and Lyn as they investigate the disappearance of Eliwood’s father. What appears to be a straightforward mystery quickly evolves into a complex plot that involves warring lords, unknown cults, and two youngsters who find themselves caught in the middle of an event that may portend the dreaded return of dragons to the land of Elbe. To rescue the world, the player will need to put up a diverse army consisting of Wizards, Thieves, Knights, and Mercenaries in order to make it through the game’s 25 chapters of tactical role-playing tactics and emerge victorious. Only then will they be able to save the world. Be cautious, however, for death is irreversible, and nearly no one is immune to the devastation that war may cause.
