Rhythm Tengoku is a music game that emphasizes time and rhythm. The same team that worked on Wario Ware provided the soundtrack for the game through the record label J.P. ROOM. This is evident in the game’s odd presentation. The game, like Wario Ware, is a collection of shorter games packaged together. Before each game begins, you are shown a quick tutorial that prepares you and allows you to practice before you start the actual thing. Control is typically relatively easy; only the A Button is necessary – although other games demand players push numerous buttons for different activities. Players will punch in time with a karate master while pots and rocks are hurled, pick hairs off an onion, march in time with an instructor, smash a baseball while the screen zooms in and out, shoot ghosts with arrows, cut demons like a samurai, and much more. A remix stage appears at the end of each set of stages; in this level, portions of previously played stages are merged and hurled at you at random, all while a single song plays.
