The first Shining Force game has been remade as Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon. The game continues to concentrate on the Runefaust army’s attempt to revive the Dark Dragon, but it also includes new characters and extended story scenes between fights. Furthermore, conversations have been extended, and the main hero now has a backstory and can speak. The graphics have also been completely redone, and the sound quality has increased even though the compositions remain the same as in the original. The tactical turn-based fights are, of course, at the center of the game. You can take up to twelve distinct Shining Force members into combat. Fighters and wizards are among the various classes available, as are healers, knights, monks, ninjas, and more. In between bouts, you may explore other towns, acquire new weapons and stuff, and talk to the locals. There are also a lot of hidden characters and stuff to find. Shining Force’s gameplay has also changed. The UI has been streamlined slightly, and you may now organize your forces before conflicts. During conflicts, you can now see forthcoming turns, making it much easier to plan your next moves. To make the battles more engaging, even for fans of the original, you gain benefits (typically money or a weapon) for finishing battles in a particular number of rounds. Finally, a side mission for collecting cards has been introduced. Cards can have varied effects in combat, and one character can morph into the cards you’ve discovered.
