Lara Croft discovers a document describing a secret arcane power that will bring ruin to Earth shortly. This prophecy also mentions three mythical stones associated with the disaster above. Fascinated, Lara traverses the world in pursuit of these legendary stones. Along the quest, she will encounter both human and nonhuman opponents, as well as some evil magic. Lara is now in a “quasi-3D” overhead world, as opposed to the earlier handheld (GBC) versions’ 2D-platformer view. This perspective is valuable when Lara runs, leaps, shimmies, and shoots about. Although there is no save option, there is a password system that allows you to recover to ‘nearly’ where you left off.
