Ultimate Spider-Man is Activision’s third game and the first to be based on comics rather than new films. The GBA game puts players in charge of Spider-Man as he battles Venom and other adversaries with the assistance of other known superheroes. When a radioactive spider bites 15-year-old Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s origin story begins. He quickly discovers that he can climb walls and feel things. Peter and his friend Eddie Brock uncover a fascinating black outfit that their dads made before their deaths, shortly after being bitten. Eddie eventually puts on the costume, transforming him into the feared villain Venom. To defend the city, Peter must combat his boyhood buddy and other villains such as the Green Goblin, Carnage, and Electro. In narrative mode, players may explore New York City as much as they like while completing side objectives or moving the plot along. Spider-Man, on the other hand, can shoot webs onto large buildings and swing across the city, arresting gang members and halting murders. He must also foil Venom’s scheme and defeat the other baddies. Players will also appreciate seeing Spider-Man in moments with pals such as Wolverine and the Human Torch. Comic book enthusiasts will like how Ultimate Spider-Man relies on the comic style and plot, while moviegoers will appreciate seeing another chapter in the Spider-Man heritage.
