You’ve probably heard of “the shot heard ’round the world.” You may think of Wolfenstein 3-D as the game equivalent of what you just said. That initial shot from BJ Blazkowitz gave birth to many games throughout the years, including a return to the castle nine years later and this accurate port for the GBA. Although the PC version of the original game, Catacombs 3-D, came out first, Wolfenstein 3-D had a significantly more significant influence on the gaming industry and individual players, making it one of the most influential video games of all time. Along with its younger sibling, DOOM, Wolf 3-D was instrumental in popularizing the third-person first-person shooter genre and kicking off a new era in gaming.
