Worms World Party is a turn-based strategy game with an artillery theme. Worms World Party, like its predecessors, involves managing a team of worms and employing a variety of weapons to kill the other team(s). The worms can walk, jump, and use equipment like the ninja rope and parachute to reach previously inaccessible areas. The worms have many weapons, ranging from longbows to bazookas and fireballs to Holy Hand Grenades. There are also a variety of unique weapons available, such as Armageddon (meteor shower) and the all-powerful Concrete Donkey. Some weapons are already in the worms’ arsenal, while others may be obtained from randomly occurring boxes throughout the game. Holding the launching key longer for various weapons, such as grenades, causes them to shoot further. Any weapon can distort the landscape, challenging players to adapt to shifting surroundings. In addition to the natural obstacles, the maps may have ground mines that detonate when a worm comes too close to one, as well as barrels that explode when fired, releasing some scorching napalm. These frequently result in elaborate combinations, such as a worm being hit with a grenade and then hurled into a mine, which sets off another worm, which strikes a third worm, which slides into the sea.
